RE: NOTICE REGARDING ENTRY/EXIT DOORS
W/TRANSLATORS AND NON-QOLSYS SENSORS
Overview:
Under conditions where a contact may experience rapid open/close signaling, either reporting to the IQ
Panel via a Translator (all types) or with a non-Qolsys 319.5 MHz wireless door transmitter, the IQ panel
could report the opening as “open” instead of closed. Therefore, it is recommended that for entry/exit
doors, a Qolsys wireless door sensor is used. The Qolsys wireless door sensor is specifically designed to
eliminate this potential occurrence. Future updates to the IQ panel will address this potential issue
associated with non-Qolsys wireless sensors and Translators.
Should an entry/exit door be monitored with either a Translator or non-Qolsys wireless door sensor, it
is recommended that the end-user be instructed to allow at least 2 seconds between opening and
closing the door. If the solutions outlined are not followed, there is a potential for an “exit fault” to
occur while arming the system.
