IQ4 – IQ Remote PG Screen Lock
To have a screen lock on your IQ Remote PG, a few prerequisites must be met.
- You IQ4 must be on 4.6.1 or higher.
- Your IQ Remote PG must be paired via PowerG pair.
- Your IQ Remote PG must take the 4.6.1 patch.
Once all these prerequisites have been met, then you can enable screen lock. It will be a global setting. You cannot choose to disable it on the IQ Remote PG and keep it on the IQ4 panel or vice versa. It is all or nothing.
The setting is located on your IQ4 Panel under Settings > Advanced Settings > Installation > Security and Arming > Screen Lock. Enable it.
Screen lock will then appear on both your IQ4 and your IQ Remote PG.
You will need to type in your code first thing now to access the panel. Even though it asks for a user code, please use your installer/dealer code at this point to get your installer functionality. If you wish to exit back to the screen lock page, press the button on the right-hand side of the panel to make the panel go dark and then tap the screen and put in the correct code.
PREREQUISITES (in detail):
To update your IQ4 panel to 4.6.1, you can go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Upgrade Software > Patch tag > Type “iqpanel4.6.1” > Hit Okay > Hit Upgrade Using a Network.
- Note: Upgrade Using Network is not a popup. You will need to find it on the Upgrade Software list of options.
You will need to wait for it to finish downloading and wait for your panel to reboot before you continue.
To pair the IQ Remote PG with PowerG pair, follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Pair the IQ Remote PG as if it were a Power G sensor.
On the main panel, navigate to Settings > Advance Settings > Enter Installer (1111) or Dealer (2222) Code > Installation > Devices > Security Sensors > Auto Learn.
Step 2: Press the Power G pair option on the IQ Remote.
Step 3: Accept the PG pair on main panel. Do not touch the IQ Remote PG for two minutes after it looks like it is ready to arm/disarm. It may take multiple patches and reboot again, and we do not want to interrupt that process.
If the multiple patches failed to process, you can go on your IQ Remote PG and go to Settings > IQ Remote PG Upgrade to force the panel to search for further updates.
If that also fails, then please delete the panel and attempt to pair again.
