RE: PANEL SOFTWARE UPDATE/INSTALLATION BEST PRACTICES
Overview:
Alarm.com and JCI would like to remind you that the installation flow / best practice for IQ Panel and Alarm.com
activation is as follows:
1. Apply Battery and Power to the IQ Panel
2. Activate the panel on Alarm.com
3. Perform software updates as needed
It is important that the panel is activated on Alarm.com BEFORE updating software on the panel as there are
critical actions occurring behind the scenes to ensure the best possible installation experience.
If you update the software on the panel prior to activation of the Alarm.com account, it is possible that either the
cellular interface or Wi-Fi connection could become disabled, requiring a factory reset before being able to
activate the account on Alarm.com.
